Q: How do I write a consult follow up note?
A: Go to Notes activity and write a new consult note and then charge the note as a consult follow-up.

 

Q: How do I print the patient’s home medications on the unified prescription on discharge?

A: press “edit” on the home medications during discharge medication reconciliation.

 

Q: Can I create my own patient list?
A: Yes you can, under patient lists tab press on “edit list” then “create my list”.

 

Q: How do I add on a blood sample?

A: In the order composer of your current order, refer to the “Add-on” section which will specify if you can add on a previous sample or not.

 

Q: Can I write the admission/transfer/discharge orders from the orders activity?

A: No you cannot, you have to go to the admission/transfer/discharge navigators.

 

Q: How can I review the full chemistry results for my patient without click on each component alone?

A: From chart review click the Results Review tab, then accept, and select the chemistry topic from the left side bar under ALL TOPICS.

 

Q: Why is my pulse showing low percentages for “marked as reviewed” section of the problem list?

A: Make sure you are clicking “Mark as Reviewed” for the problem list section for every patient. Even if the problem list is empty and your patient does not have any problem, you need to click “Mark as Reviewed” meaning you have verified that you have asked the patient

 

Q: Do I need to click mark as reviewed 7 times from the sidebar section?

A: Yes, from the Wrap-Up navigator select the review tab and click “Mark All as Reviewed”.

 

Q: How do I delete a documentation encounter?

A: It is not possible; however, in the notes section for that documentation encounter write “opened by error” accept the note and sign the encounter

 

Q: How can I know where my unified prescription is printing?

A: If you are printing from your clinic, it should print from the printer next to you. If you are printing from outside the clinic, it should print on the department default printer. Refer to the nurse managers in case you do not know where that is.

 

Q: Default printer is not printing on unified prescription.

A: Make sure the printer has unified prescription papers inside the tray.

 

Q: How can I be more efficient in my In basket?

A: Assign 15 minutes every day to check the In basket and be up to date on your messages.

 

Q: How can you place an order for a medication that you were not able to find on the system?

A: In the + ADD ORDER field, add “prescription medication” select this order and click accept. Open the order and in the Patient Sig section, free text the medication with the route and dose you want to prescribe

 

Q: I need to administer a medication at the clinic today for my patient, from where should I order it?

A: Make sure you are selecting the medication from the Clinic Administered Medication “CAM” section.

 

Q: Some procedure charges are dropping off twice to the patients.

A: Make sure you did not manually add the CPT code in the charge capture section. All charges will be dropped automatically once the order is placed and signed.

 

Q: How to check if a scheduled OR Case is missing an admission form?

A: Go to “My Cases”, Next 30 Days status board.

= Missing / Incomplete Admission Form

= Admission form complete

 

Q: How to fill/complete the admission form of a scheduled OR Case?

A: Go to “My Cases”, Next 30 Days status board.

Select Case and click Open Case next to the Find button

Accept case upon completion

 

Q: I accepted the OR case instead of scheduling. How can I access the case again?

A: Click open case and search for the patient’s name. You will find the case in the bottom white field with a status of “Not Scheduled”. Double click to go directly to the case entry and schedule your case

 

Q: How to modify signed and held post-op orders?

A: Go to Orders activity Signed and held tab. Click on the hyperlink “Click here to Release Signed & Held orders”. Modify the selected order and save changes

 

Q: How to order a medication to be given in recovery before discharge?

A: From the Post-op orders to discharge, search for the medication and select the “during visit orders” medication with a bed icon next to it

Q: How to Order a bed request for same day surgery patient previously planned for discharge from Recovery?

A: Place a Transfer Order

 

Q: How to order blood specimen during OR?

A: From specimen navigator, enter the Source as “Blood…” and select the appropriate tests.


Q: How to book Anaesthesia for Bedside procedures?

A: Call OR Admins (6300, 6347) and inform them about the procedure to book anesthesia


Q: I checked my CPT codes post-procedure but still no charges dropped?

A: In Charge Capture, make sure you click on the suggested procedure to drop the charge. If different procedure performed, add it from the search field

 

Q: I can’t see the interval button next to the H&P note in the update H&P section

A: Make sure the H&P note is cosigned before writing the interval H&P
