Adding MPS Canon Queues on Windows

The purpose of this article is to walk you through the installation/configuration process of the MPS Canon queues on Windows operating systems.

For assistance with the installation, kindly visit Service Desk Portal to report an incident/service request, or to locate the nearest IT Service Desk.

Windows (Windows 8.1 64-bit and above)

N.B: The below steps are for adding the MPS Canon queues on laptops joined to the AUB domain. It is always recommended that the MPS Canon queues are only added through group policy on departmental computers.The queues are automatically added to all computers once they are moved to their proper OUs by the Service Desk team. 

     1. Press the Windows+R buttons to open the Run window.

     2. Type in the following path and press enter: ­­­­­\\mps-rpsa.win2k.aub.edu.lb

      3. Once the server share window opens, double click on Canon-Queue in order to add

      the printer.

      4. You may receive the prompt shown in the below screenshot:

      Click on “Install driver”. Please note that administrative privileges may be required.

      5. The installation will be completed once the MPS Canon queue window appears

      Repeat steps 1 to 4 in order to add the Canon-BackupQueue, use the following share

      path and printer name:

      Share Path: \\mps-rpsb.win2k.aub.edu.lb

      Name: Canon-BackupQueue
